Data Processor
A Data Processor is a person who processes personal data on behalf of a Data Fiduciary, under contract and on that fiduciary's documented instructions.
Processors are common in outsourced operations, SaaS and BPM. Because the fiduciary stays accountable, processor selection, contractual terms and disclosure of sub-processors are part of the fiduciary's own compliance.
